American Women's Club of Dublin

Welcome!

The American Women's Club of Dublin is a non-profit organization established in 1972 to assist women with their transition to their new home in Ireland. With more than 180 members, the club provides a resource for women from North America to connect with other countrywomen and to foster an appreciation of Ireland's rich culture through a variety of activities. In addition, the club's philanthropic endeavors help to promote American-Irish relations and enables it to give back to the community.

Meet an AWCD Member

"I arrived in Dublin three years ago to start university at Trinity College. It's only recently I've become a member of the American Women's Club and realising all the fun I've missed out on! Coming from Buffalo, NY where the snow is a half of year season, Dublin was a very welcome temporal change! Looking at all of the exciting activities and groups the club has to offer, I only wish I joined sooner!

My first AWCD experience came recently with an invitation to the French Ambassador's residence. On International Women's Day, a group of us were invited for a reception to celebrate the event. The rooms were filled with women from all over the world, all coming together to celebrate the day. After a speech by the Ambassador and talking with the different groups of women, I came away feeling empowered to be a woman!

If you're a new resident in Dublin or even just behind in joining, I'd strongly advocate membership. I can already see what opportunities there are to offer, probably the most valuable though is the chance to meet some great women!"
