A Message from our President...
Since 1972, The American Women’s Club of Dublin has been providing women from North America with opportunities to develop friendships and get involved with the Irish community through philanthropic and cultural events and activities. The AWCD is open to all citizens and long time residents of North America and truly has something for everyone. The club provides opportunities for members to participate in varied activities from cultural tours to book clubs and groups as varied as margarita Mondays, Coffee and Kids and the Professional Women’s Network. Each year the club also undertakes a philanthropic effort in which we raise funds for a single chosen charity through events, raffles, classes, and activities. This year’s charity is The Children’s Sunshine Home.
The club holds monthly meetings at Bewley’s Hotel in Ballsbridge and are generally open to new, current and interested members. Dates for the 2011/2012 club year are 15th September, 13th October, 10th November, 12th January, 9th February, 8th March, 12th April, and 10th May (May meeting is only open to current members). Each month we have different guest speaker.
This year the AWCD is also hosting the Federation for American Women’s Clubs Overseas (FAWCO) 2012 annual conference. The event is going to be held at the Burlington Hotel the 21st to 25th of March.
I look forward to a very exciting club year and welcoming all new and returning members!
-Melissa
